Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province made some remarkable achievements in 2022, according to the latest government work report delivered at the second session of the 17th Wuxi Municipal People's Congress, which was held on Jan 9.
The city's per capita GDP is expected to top large and medium-sized cities in China, and the growth of the per capita disposable income of Wuxi residents led cities in southern Jiangsu.
Wuxi created jobs for 150,000 people in urban areas throughout the year and offered nearly 50 billion yuan in subsidies to local businesses.

The total output value of industries above designated size in the city reached 2.4 trillion yuan ($354.69 billion), while imports and exports exceeded $110 billion, a record high.
Wuxi is currently home to another 724 industrial businesses above designated size and 12 listed enterprises.
It ranked first in Jiangsu in terms of number of top 500 companies in China, top 500 private businesses in China, and top 500 companies in China's manufacturing industry.
The number of high-tech enterprises and "little giant enterprises", or specialized and sophisticated technology enterprises, in Wuxi amounted to 5,547 and 88, respectively.
The city also houses 80,000 mu (5,333.33 hectares) of high-quality farmland, and the water quality of Taihu Lake in Wuxi and concentration of PM 2.5 reached its best performance in recent years.
